Surjit Bindrakhia (1962-2003) was a Punjabi singer, composer, and songwriter. He was born in Bindrakh village near Amritsar, Punjab, India. He was known for his Bhangra music and was regarded as one of the most popular Punjabi vocalists of all time. Bindrakhia's music was a blend of traditional Punjabi folk music with modern beats and instrumentation. Some of his popular songs include "Tera Yaar Bolda," "Dupatta Tera Satrang Da," and "Jatta Koka." Bindrakhia was also known for his unique voice and energetic performances. He received several awards for his contribution to the Punjabi music industry, including the Punjab Gaurav Award. Bindrakhia passed away at the age of 41 due to a cardiac arrest. Despite his untimely demise, his music continues to be popular among Punjabi music lovers.
